The staff on reception was very friendly and helpful, he resolved a booking issue and got everything sorted without any drama whatsoever. The hotel was located on the main road, so easy access to the rest of Timaru and out to the highway when leaving. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was spotlessly clean. If you are a light sleeper, you may want to discuss where your room is located as one side is exposed to the road traffic, Lots of parking, so easy for them to accommodate large vehicles if necessary. Menu in the restaurant looked great but unfortunately I didn't get a chance to try a meal there.

THIS COMMENT IS FOR THE NEXT QUESTION: Our room was located on an end which had our balcony looking onto a grotty filthy area and the same grot was down below our balcony. We paid extra for a balcony but certainly NEVER used it. We took photos and considered complaining to management but we had unpacked our bags and didn't want to have to move to another room if one was offered. That Room 51 should not be rented as having a balcony. No one in their right mind would choose to sit next to and look at that grotty area. It was a cheeky ripoff.

Comfortable bed. Underfloor heating. Extra towels were no problem when asked for. Note to all motels/hotels - if women are washing their hair, 1 towel is not enough!

The first breakfast ordered was shared between two and we then opted to order one each the next time cheers to the chef it was beautiful

Location was great, especially as we were going to entertainment at Caroline Bay. Room was fine for what we were seeking.

It was nice and spacious. Bed was very comfortable. Staff were lovely and quick to fix the bathroom door so it would lock.

The hotel is on a main road but you could only hear the noise when you were on the deck or the door was open - the sunrise was spectacular

Close to everything we needed and places we wanted to go. Location was awesome!
